PHYSICALS:  As a reminder, in accordance with New York State regulations, student physical examinations are required for all students in grades K, 1,3, 5, 7, 9 and 11, as well as all new students.  NYS has updated their School Health Examination form for the 2020-21 school year.  When you take your
child for their annual wellness check-up, please ensure that you and your pediatrician are completing and submitting this version of the form to the school nurse. Effective 1/31/21, per NYS, we will no longer be permitted to accept the previous version.

Technology Issues:  Please turn chromebooks on and do any updates that are prompted.  If you have issues with your Chromebook that you cannot troubleshoot from home, please fill out our student service desk form at https://lhric.service-now.com/student.  If you are having trouble that is not device related, please contact the main office at 845-620-3850.

  • COVID-19 At-Home Tests & CDC Guidelines

    Recently, the federal government made additional covid tests available to families.  Within the PRSD, we do have access to a limited number of tests that we can supply to our buildings.  If, however, you would like to take advantage of accessing more home test kits, please visit https://www.covid.gov/tests.

    In addition to ordering tests, there are CDC Guidelines posted for those individuals who are sick with COVID or are suffering with COVID-like symptoms.

  • New Members of District Administration 8-9-23

    Dear PRSD Community, 

    We are pleased to announce that at last evening’s Board of Education meeting, Ms. Tawnya Muhlrad was appointed to the position of Assistant Superintendent for Business. Ms. Muhlrad comes to us from the Monroe-Woodbury Central School District, where she served as Director of Accounting and Business Services. She holds a Master of Public Education from Pace University, a Master of Educational Administration and a School District Business Leader Certificate (SDBL) from Pace University, and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Mount Saint Mary College. In addition, Ms. Muhlrad is a member of the New York State Association of School Business Officials as well as the New York State Association of Municipal Purchasing Officials. 

    Ms. Muhlrad joins a talented team of new members of District Administration:

    Ms. Susanne Pariot was appointed to the position of Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. Previously, she served as Principal at Evans Park Elementary School for two years. Ms. Pariot holds New York State Certification as a School District Leader (Professional Certificate), a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Leadership from SUNY New Paltz, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Teaching from Teachers College - Columbia University, a Master of Arts in Applied Educational Psychology from Teachers College - Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from SUNY Cortland.

    Mr. John Piscitella was appointed to the position of Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources & Community Services. Previously, he served as Principal of Carmel Middle School in the Carmel Central School District for nine years. Mr. Piscitella holds a Certificate of Advanced Study in Education Administration from SUNY New Paltz, a Master of Arts in Education Theory and Practice from SUNY Albany, and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from SUNY Albany - with certifications in Permanent Social Studies (Grades 7-12) and Permanent School District Administration (SDA).

    Mr. Joseph Simoni was appointed to the position of Director of Special Services. Previously, he served in the Wappingers Central School District, Pine Bush Central School District and Carmel Central School District as an Assistant Coordinator for Special Education, Director of Special Education and Student Services, Director of Special Programs, and Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services & Technology. Mr. Simoni holds a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Building/District Leadership from SUNY New Paltz, a Master of Science in Reading Teacher Education from Mercy College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from Mount Saint Mary College. 

    Mr. Tony Kcira was appointed to the position of Coordinator of School Transportation. Previously, he served as a Communications Officer for the Rockland County Sheriff’s Department and as a School Bus Dispatcher for the Clarkstown Central School District. Mr. Kcira holds a Bachelor of Science in Financial Management from Dominican University.

    The PRSD warmly welcomes these new District Administrators as we prepare for a new and exciting 2023-24 school year.
